Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the Filling:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • For the Banana Pecan Icing:
  • 1 ripe banana mashed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped toasted pecans

Instructions

  • Make the Dough:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, and sugar. Add the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Stir in the egg, salt, and flour until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Prepare the Filling:
  • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll out the dough into a 12x16-inch rectangle. Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  • Roll and Cut the Dough:
  • Starting at the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 even slices and place them in a parchment-lined baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake the Rolls:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  • Make the Icing:
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the mashed banana, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
