Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries
Wash the strawberries under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. It's important to dry the strawberries completely because water can cause the chocolate to seize up when you dip them.
Leave the green tops on for easy handling and a decorative touch.
Step 2: Melt the Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (or coconut oil) to make the chocolate smooth and easy to dip.
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate using a double boiler by placing the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring constantly until melted.
Step 3: Dip the Strawberries
Hold each strawberry by the green leaves and dip it into the melted chocolate, making sure it’s covered about two-thirds of the way up. Let any excess chocolate drip off.
Place the dipped strawberries onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 4: Add the Pink Sprinkles
Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle pink sprinkles over the chocolate-covered portion of the strawberry. You can also roll the chocolate-covered strawberries in sprinkles if you want to cover the whole surface.
Repeat for all strawberries.
Step 5: Let the Chocolate Set
Place the strawberries in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden. This will give you that signature crispy chocolate coating when you bite into them.
Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
Once the chocolate has hardened, your strawberries are ready to be served. They make an elegant snack or dessert for any occasion.
