Prepare the Chicken:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet or rolling pin.
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
Bread the Chicken:
Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off any excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
Fry the Chicken:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
Fry the breaded chicken breasts until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the skillet.
Transfer the fried chicken to a baking sheet lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Assemble and Bake:
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of an oven-safe skillet or baking dish.
Place the fried chicken breasts on top of the sauce.
Spoon additional marinara sauce over each chicken breast, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the chicken is cooked through.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Serve the Chicken Parmesan hot, alongside pasta, a fresh salad, or garlic bread.
