Cook the Ground Beef:
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula or wooden spoon.
Drain any excess fat.
Add the taco seasoning mix and water to the skillet, stirring to combine.
Simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the beef is fully coated in the seasoning and the liquid has reduced.
Prepare the Rice (Optional):
If using rice or quinoa, cook according to package instructions and set aside.
Assemble the Taco Bowls:
Start with a base of cooked rice or quinoa in each bowl (if using).
Add a generous layer of shredded lettuce on top.
Spoon the seasoned ground beef over the lettuce.
Sprinkle shredded cheese over the hot beef to melt slightly.
Add a scoop of pico de gallo and a scoop of guacamole.
Dollop sour cream on top.
Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro over the bowls (if desired).
Serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
