Easy Honey Dijon Chicken is a quick and flavorful dish that combines the sweet and tangy notes of honey with the sharpness of Dijon mustard. This recipe is perfect for busy weeknights or when you want to impress guests without spending too much time in the kitchen. The tender chicken is coated in a flavorful honey mustard glaze that caramelizes as it cooks, giving it a beautiful golden finish.

Equipment

  • Baking dish or oven-safe pan
  • Whisk
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Basting brush (optional)

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Make the Honey Dijon Sauce:
  • In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice), garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  • Prepare the Chicken:
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides. Place them in a baking dish or oven-safe pan.
  • Glaze the Chicken:
  • Pour the honey Dijon mixture over the chicken breasts, making sure they are evenly coated. If you prefer, you can use a basting brush to spread the glaze evenly.
  • Bake the Chicken:
  • Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the chicken is golden and slightly caramelized. You can baste the chicken with the sauce halfway through cooking for extra flavor.
  • Serve:
  • Once done, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired, and serve with your favorite sides.
